Now all I need is Sawyer at the dinning table

I love this canvas photo! It reminds me of LOST, and as my friend Kim Quintal pointed out, the video game Myst. I just love decorating! I use to hate cleaning when I lived in our apartment. Now I do not mind it at all; knowing how awesome my house looks when it is clean (not that I really let it get "dirty") really help!

Ikea Improved the bedroom too!

I eye balled this photo the first time I went to Ikea. I was with my mom and did not want to risk buying it without Josh seeing it first...he liked it!

I think it goes quite nicely with the tree theme I seem to be having; remember the big brown tree on the shower curtain in the master bath?

Ikea dressing up the living room

So, I was racking my brain for what would look good on the big bare section next to the T.V. I did not want a small picture, figured that would look out of proportion; thought a big clock, never came across one I liked and not really needed; I thought maybe a grandfather clock, but a nice one is several thousand dollars and Josh did not like that idea...so I came up with the giant picture (the T.V. is 55 inches to give you an idea of how big the picture is) idea when we were at Ikea. I think it looks quite nice don't you? And a nice extra touch with that palm tree looking house plant right? And only $12...I could easily pay $50 or more for the same plant that size up here. I have decorations for the bedroom (but Josh still has to hang it) and the dinning room (but there is a stained glass door in view of a good photo which I want to wait for Josh to take to work) that I will post later.

And can I just say, "I love Ikea!!" ?

All hands on deck!

Now that the house is finished on the inside (minus a few decorating details that will come with time), it is about that time to start working on the outside; which needs almost as much work as the inside did. Even though the siding was done after only a few months, the rest of the yard has pretty much been untouched. First major face life was the back deck (click here) Which is not finished, but I am posting pictures anyways! So just for review, the deck use to be; small, rotting, and falling apart!

But, because Josh is talented, we will soon have a new nice, big, safe, attractive deck. Of course, like the pictures of the house, the outside will be a work in progress. But just like I had my furniture picked out when we were still down to studs, a year before we actually moved in; I am dreaming of patio furniture, plants, and a barbecue.

For those that missed the party!

As I promised, here is the rest of the house.

This is our bedroom. It is a dresser bed with six deep drawers on each side. I really love it, and the temper pedic mattress is really nice!

This is the guest room, not as fancy and I need to figure out what to put on the walls to dress it up.

I normally would not chose turquoise as a color, but with the awesome pendent lights, turquoise as a accent color is quite fun!

The Office Steve Carell would be Jealous of

So my office has a theme as you can see...birds. Just like my old office at the apartment, except 1000% better!

I know the office is not that exciting, but I said I would post everything; and there will be more exciting things to come!

Dinner is served!

For the first time in the ten years I have been married I finally have a dinning room! Before, we just had a kitchen table shoved against the window and refrigerator in the kitchen; the area was too small to actually sit down.

The table was a hand me down from Joshes parents; who got it also as a hand me down from Joshes father's parents; who got it as a hand me down and left it on the front porch to get rained upon.

For ten years we ate on T.V. trays which managed to hold up just long enough for us to move into the house. If you were not careful, the legs would separate and your food would fall on the floor; which was a hand me down rug from my parents to cover up the used, old, stained carpet in the apartment living room/dinning room/ Joshes office.

There were a lot of benefits to me finishing school before buying a home and trying to get pregnant; one I never considered was that I would be too busy to notice what I was living in...people always say you do not notice what you have until it is gone, I say; you never really notice how bad it was until it is over and you move on.

Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah...

So, here it is; in all its glory. The shelf there lights up just like the one to the left, I just did not have it turned on.

We obviously still need to get bar stools, but that might have to wait awhile after all this remodeling!

I love love love LOOOOVVVVEE it! It is going to be some much fun having parties here!

The under cabinet lighting is awesome, it just looks so classy at night!

Master Bath

So, as I promised; here it is. Love it? I do. The mirror has to set, so of course it will not always look like that.

The counter top is also Corion, and the same color as the guest bath.

I just love the shower curtian, I thought for sure Josh would not like it. I learned my lesson after buying that mirror at Pier One. So I took a picture of it and texted it to him asking if I could get it, he texted back "yes"

Treating your guests right!

So the guest bathroom is done. I think I did a good job designing it if I do say so myself. Wouldn't you want to come stay at my house?? Josh is doing some finishing touches on the master bath and then I will clean it, decorate, and take some pictures. I do need some "Goo-be-gone" for that window up there, one label is being a pest!

Obviously we are going to need a mirror. Plans to pick that up tomorrow.

The Lion & The Witch got nothin on my Wardrobe

This little beauty came to us over the weekend. It is a custom built in Hickory Linen closet (ok, so it is not a wardrobe, but the title to this blog was so much funner that way) built by Joshes friend Paul.

I really like the door handles. They look good with Hickory; we have them on all the cabinets throughout the house.
